Queen of Anti-oxidants

Rosemary is a small woody evergreen shrub whose native habitat stretches across the Mediterranean region, where it lives in harsh conditions and rocky soils. This herb is a member of the aromatic mint family and has a pleasing scent and taste.

It can stimulate, so Rosemary tea at night before sleep may keep you awake. Steeping too long causes it to be bitter.

Science has validated that smelling rosemary essential oils reduces test anxiety and can also enhance memory; a cognitive enhancer. This essential oil should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Like most herbs used for decreasing pain, rosemary seems to work in a variety of ways. It is high in anti-oxidants which can decrease oxidative stress and inflammation. It has long been used for inflammatory pain such as arthritis.

Rosemary is often paired with fatty meats such as lamb for its ability to support liver and help digest fats.

I like to pair it with green tea for a yummy tea.
