Strawberry as a Tonic?

I love that strawberry is a member of the rose family and a northern hemisphere native.


The leaves and berries of organically grown or of plants that have had no herbicides, are lovely in tea. A tea of strawberry leaves is excellent for overall health and soothes the gastrointestinal system. Leaves have a cooling nature and help to balance herbs that produce heat. Dried berries are good for recuperation after an illness or surgery and a good source of iron and vitamins to nourish the blood and strengthen the body. Strawberries also cleanse the liver.


Dried strawberries are good for the skin and help with eczema. Try a tea that has strawberries and strawberry leaves in your bath. Don't drink the bath water though!!
