Ginger root has been used for more than 2000 years for health. It is great to use for lack of appetite, a gem for the heart, stops nausea and queasiness, stimulates digestive enzymes for burning fats and proteins, and cleanses toxins from our bodies. What a powerhouse of help.
1/3 cup freshly grated ginger root peeled
Honey or maple syrup to taste
1 quart berry juice of choice or macerated berries soaked in water and then strained
Add ginger to 1 quart of boiling water, reduce heat, and simmer in a covered pot for 10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and steep for another 10 minutes.
Strain and sweeten.
Add fruit juice, stir well, and freeze just until slushy. Serve.
You can also freeze a batch in a water bottle and sip on a summer day as it melts. Yum! Refreshing!
