Cleavers can be spotted in gardens and by roadsides as one of the first herbs of spring. It is a twining weed that weaves through other plants and shrubs with long, square, sticky stems, pinwheels of slim leaves up the stem and clusters of small white flowers. It sticks to fabric, people, pets and plants.
This plant is useful for cleansing the lymph system which is vital for immunity. It helps to prevent lymphatic buildup and toxins which can contribute to infections. It also stimulates the liver, another detoxifying organ and enhances digestion and absorption of nutrients. Cleavers is a general tonic.
Avoid if pregnant or breast feeding.
