Basil Tea


This recipe is for those yummy basil leaves we have an abundance of in the summer. My favorite is lime basil.


Serves 4

2 cups basil leaves

7 cups just boiled water

3/4 c honey or to taste with sweetener of choice.

1 T lemon juice


Place basil in 1/2-gallon mason jar.

Pour just boiled water over basil leaves and steep 20-30 minutes.

Strain.

Add honey or sweetener and stir well.

Add lemon and adjust to taste.

Store in the refrigerator for 1 week.
